The breakfast here is better than in most of the country's all-inclusive resorts, as it includes a variety of natural fruit juices (melon, pineapple, papaya, etc.). With a capacity of 200, the restaurant proposes a different theme every evening (Mexican, Italian, international, etc.). Of course, there is the main buffet restaurant, the Market Buffet Gourmet, with show cooking and a terrace corner. Open from 7:00am to 11:00pm, the gym is spacious and equipped with state-of-the-art machines, air-conditioning and televisions, although the music is much too loud - worse than a night club!Īs elsewhere, there is plenty of choice for food with five restaurants. There is also a games room, a television room, a (free) sauna and a gym. Children will adore the playground and its bouncy castle, just like they will adore the kids club (ages 4-12) open from 9:00am to 8:00pm.
The Malibu Grill and Pool Bar is near to the animated swimming pool and serves snacks from 11:30am to 5:00pm. The towels are supplied directly in the guest rooms at no extra charge. The three swimming pools are surrounded by a lawn, and are equipped with some unique showers (wooden beams), white canvas parasols, deckchairs and mattresses. With a gentle incline, like at the beach, and lined with palm trees, it is a very peaceful spot where yoga and tai chi are practised under a palapa (open-sided thatched hut). With such a large surface area, the resort's three swimming pools are not excessive! There is one opposite the Restaurant Bistro Grill, another for organised entertainment (with a water volleyball net), where notably the aqua gym takes place, and the main, largest one, in the shape of a lagoon. Country music and even Elvis Presley can be heard at the bar. The reception is charming with its red bricks and chandelier. It has 299 65m² suites equipped with a kitchen divided among 7 pastel-coloured buildings either two or four-stories high with a lift. The three Diamond Suites, the top of the range suites, measure 243m²!īuilt in 2011, the former Fishing Lodge changed its name and ownership in December 2012 to become the Marina Sands Luxury Resort, part of the Spanish Corporacion Quality Investment (CQI) group. The toilets are separate, and a hair-dryer can be found in the wardrobe. They include a large bathtub with two handles, a separate tropical shower, a double wash basin, a make-up mirror, Paul Gauguin brand complimentary toiletries, tissues, special massage soap with bubbles, and bathrobes.

As for the bathrooms, they are shiny, stylish, clean, and full of light. The decoration throughout is cheerful and original, with a sea theme (shells, crustaceans, star fish, etc.). There is also a pouf and a bench seat at the foot of the bed. Guests sleep in a comfortable king-size bed, and the wooden bureau and the armchair with its cushion are all very elegant.

Of course, there is a free electronic safe that is big enough to store a laptop, individual air-conditioning combined with a ceiling fan, an iron and ironing board, and free Wi-Fi Internet access. Decorated with blue and grey tiling and carpet, the accommodation includes a lounge with a sofa, two armchairs, a wooden coffee table and a large flat-screen television with various cable channels. We say kitchen rather than kitchenette because it really is a fully-equipped kitchen: oven, microwave, sink, fridge, cutlery, crockery, two hobs, and a cooker hood, with a minibar included (with water, beer and soft drinks), and tea and coffee-making facilities. There are four different room, or rather apartment, categories (Junior Suites, Deluxe Suites, Premiere Suites and Diamond Suites) at the Marina Sands Luxury Resorts, all of which are spacious (a minimum of 65m² for the Junior Suites) and equipped with a kitchen.
